David Carroll first learned about music through a piano in his home. Studying for seven years, he decided he wanted to be a trumpet player. After one semester it was decided he would make a much better tuba player. After studying tuba for 12 years, through high school, and three years of college, the groundwork for low-end playing had been established. Starting on electric, he found a broken-yet repaired upright in the window of a small music store. He now primarily plays upright bass.
